Most of us (OK, ALL of us) are related to someone. We came from a set of parents, who came from a set of parents, who came from a set of parents and on…and on…and on.
And, most of us (OK, ALL of us) have notions about how families are supposed to work, how family members are supposed to behave, and how we can expect to be treated by the people we are related to.
Those notions, for the most part, began forming when we first watched our parents and how they treated each other and how they interacted with us. Long before we had words to describe what was happening, we "absorbed" the flavor of the relationships and we developed our own ideas about who we were and how we fit it.
FamilySystematics is all about noticing the essence and the details about our relationships. Armed with accurate information about how families work, we can intentionally make changes in our interpersonal behaviors…as parents, as children, as siblings, as members of the community.
Our blog sites (for families, parents, kids and singles) will provide suggestions, links to other useful and entertaining sites as well as offering tips and educational tools to co-create better relationships, one person at a time and one family at a time.
