And you think you've got troubles!  The latest issue of  NEAtoday lists some pretty funny teachers' most embarrassing moments.  For example: "While standing in front of my second-grade class, a little boy blurted out, 'Mrs. Timberlake, do you know you have nipples?' I stood there aghast, not sure how to respond, when he continued, 'You have nipples in both cheeks when you smile.'     [ed: Awwwww!  Thanks, Laurie]

Phonics and Kids--Whatta combo!

[This little story was making the teacher's e-mail rounds...]

My five-year old students are learning to read.

Yesterday one of them pointed at a picture in a zoo book and said,

    'Look at this!  It's a frickin' elephant!'

I took a deep breath, then asked...'What did you call it?'

'It's a frickin' elephant!   It says so on the picture!'

And so it does...
